Roofing material used is either slating,  tiling or leadwork.  See below to understand how these materials are used.

Slating
Slate is a roofing material that is commonly associated with durability. Its robustness offers protection in even the most extreme of weather conditions.  Slate can withstand frost damage and is less likely to fracture during intense spells of cold weather. A slate roof is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also long lasting – in fact it can last a lifetime.  It is important to use/invest in the very best products to suit each job. RA Leadworks only use slate that meets the highest of standards.

Tiling your roof can prove to be a more economic choice. Interlocking tiles, though cheaper, are available in many materials and come in a variety of different styles. Clients may also wish to consider using plain tiles which give the capacity for greater design detail. These tiles can dramatically enhance any project.

There are clearly many factors to take into account when contemplating tiling a roof. Should you opt for clay or concrete tiles? Will they be small or large format? What kind of texture or finish will complement the rest of the build? The decision is based upon weighing up the pros and cons of each variable and applying them to the project to make sure the result is the right one.  I am  always happy to provide assistance when it comes to making these potentially difficult choices.

Lead Work
Though it may at first appear to be a more expensive option, lead is one of the more versatile roofing materials and will, over time, prove to be a worthwhile investment.  Not only is lead sheet a robust and durable option, it also gives room for flexibility. Choosing lead is also an environmentally friendly option as it is currently the most recycled building material. As with slate, lead sheet is a long lasting solution but, unlike other synthetic options, lead will be hardwearing and age elegantly.

Laying down a lead roof requires a specialised workforce who are trained in the correct installation methods.  RA Leadworks has this expertise and experience and takes great pride in ensuring all leadwork is applied in the correct manner so that any roof  installed is to the very highest standard.
